Hello. I was just doing some printing here and for some reason I Googled my dad's name, Gerald (Jerry) Hostetler, DOB 9/24/36. He did pass away last May but when this website came up, I just had to leave a comment. My mom's name is Frances (Fran) Christine Hostetler, DOB 3/10/41 (has a hyphenated last name of Hostetler-Melseth). I have two kids, Joshua and Cami, twins, DOB 6/11/84. Anyway. I'm interested in seeing what kind of response I get!! Thanks.

I am from the linage of Christian Hostetler who was captured by the indians as a boy. I call us the lost linage. It seem that there is not very may of us. I would like to see more descendents of Christian come forward with their families. My grandmother was 4 yrs old in the book Descendents of Jacob Hochstetler. She gave the book 4 yrs ago and ask if I could continue the linage. It has been very difficult. It seems that Christian just disappeared when his father could not get alone with him. If there are any Christian descendents, please let me hear from you. Grandmother will be 93 years old April 6, 1999. Would love to hand her a book with your email descendents listed in it, before it's to late for her to see. Thank you!

Just got HHH newsletter, Sept 98 issue today. I found this web page from this newsletter. Very good web site design and information about your family. I am direct descendant of DJH 8290 who is my great grandfather Jacob (Homer). I have two young uns, Kenton and Sarah, 5 and 3 year old. My wife is Elizabeth Welsh of NJ. We will try to attend the next family reunion in 2003. Answer to question-what would you like to see done at the next reunion? Visual family tree pictures showing various branches on web, rather than flipping the pages of thick book. I know its a lot of work, but very rewarding and informative. Keep up the work! Scott

My name is Mark Harris, I am the son of Naomi Kanagy who happens to be in a photo of the last reunion. She told me to come and snoop around a little and see what you crazy people are doing.

I like your homepage very much. I descend from the Jacob Hochstattler & Maria Eva Trautmann who arrived on the ship Harle September 1, 1736, and they were from the Zweibrucken area of Germany. Jacob was a son of Christian & Eva Hostettler from Schwarzenburg, Bern area. Our family had ties with the Reformed and Lutheran Churches and were not Menonites or Amish. Dwight J. Huffstetler

Jane,Sarah,Nubs, and Dale: great job on the web site! I can truely appreciate all of the hours and hard work it took to publish the site. Organizing the Hostetler geneology is quite an accomplishment in itself...there are so many of us! As far as the next reunion, I think name tags would be quite helpful, but am not sure if our Amish relatives can wear them. Thanks for the site; it's a wonderful way of keeping us all in touch with one another!

Nice, clean page! The overall design is very tasteful. It is now just 6 hours since the end of the '98 HHH reunion and for a moment I thought (and was very ready to be even more impressed by your speed) that the "Reunion Pictures" referred to today, but see that it must be a prior family time. It was good to have met the two of you. Best wishes with this new family page. See you in five years!

We really enjoyed visiting with you. The photos are very good and the site itself it fantastic. You all have done a great job. We will check back every so often and see what changes take place. Sent an email with how our family is related to Jacob. As for the question you have above: We have never been able to attend one of the reunions but we have heard how very nice they are from Sam's Aunt Edith who attended a reunion some years ago. Just the chance to get together and see everyone would be a thrill in itself!

Dear Jane, This is Dan Hostetler from Italy. I must say that you were much too kind to mention Jacob's Homepage right on your greet- ing page. I guess that's the "family" in us... What a nice living room effect you've created! I felt right at home from the moment I stepped in, to the moment I left. Congratulations! You can't know how wonderful it feels to me to see other Hostetlers getting themselves onto the Internet. We are a modern force! Take care and let's see if we can collaborate on various projects. I get really excited when I think about connecting us all, from where ever, we are to a single point of communication. And once again, congratulations! Dan Hostetler www.hostetler.net
